Episode Summary
"Ass Fat Jungle" / Season 2, Episode 8
A story of sleepovers, fat lips, hit-and-remember and having your best
friends head examined.
Broadcast: November 15, 2005
Alan tries to find someone to sleep with him when he sleepwalks and almost
falls off his balcony railing, but given his reputation, this is no easy
task. Shirley, Denny and Paul represent Jason Matheny (16), accused of
running over an old man. Denise defends Dr. Glouberman, accused of
injecting women's lips with fat cells from his own buttocks against their
knowledge. Denny gets tested for Alzheimer's.
From ABCMedianet.com: When Alan Shore experiences the
return of his night terrors - where he sleepwalks and could physically
hurt himself - he asks his new, attractive secretary, Melissa, if she
would moonlight and sleep with him to keep him from hurting himself.
Meanwhile, if Alan agrees to get an MRI for his night terrors, then Denny
Crane will agree to undergo one to determine whether he has Alzheimer's or
Mad Cow disease. Meanwhile, Shirley Schmidt is reluctant to take a case in
which the teenaged son of a rich client is accused of vehicular
manslaughter, and she becomes even more reluctant when she has to
interview the only eye witness, an elderly woman with Alzheimer's. And
Denise Bauer is asked to represent two women who claim that Boston's most
famous plastic surgeon injected his own butt fat into their lips, when
they believed the fat was coming from their bodies

Episode Dialogue
[Thanks to Carolyn for feeding me dialogue from the Eastern time zone]
Denny: I say if a woman's brain's turned to oatmeal, let's throw in some
raisins and have her for breakfast.
__
Man on next balcony: Hey, pal! What are you doing?
Alan: Thank you.
Alan tells his assistant about the night terrors*
Alan Shore: I need somebody to guard me at night.
Melissa: When you say guard?
Alan Shore: I need you to lie in the bed with me. Should I get up to run
outside? Stop me.
Melissa: How stupid do you think I am?
Alan Shore: So you’ll think about it?
__
Alan: Denny. Night terrors. They can be potentially life-threatening.
Denny Crane: Because we're friends, I'm going to tell you something nobody
else knows. *Denny delicately, but deliberately removes Alan's hand from
his* I'm homophobic.
Alan: *matter-of-factly* I'm stunned.
Denny: I'd do almost anything for you. But I cannot share your bed. Be a
man. Get a girl.
__
Alan: As immune as you are to any sexual advances on my part, I have had
the occasional fantasy about the Michelin Man.
__
Alan: Hmm. Good work. You can go!
Did You Know... ?
James Spader wears glasses. He wishes Alan Shore did. There
was one episode in season 8 of The Practice where he
got away with was allowed to wear
them. Name that episode. He did not actually wear them in "Ass Fat Jungle"
- just during a break in filming?
Tori/Torrey
Pines
The character name of one of the plaintiffs in the Glouberman case is Tori
Pines. This is also the name of a tree [Torrey Pine] and a
California State
reserve near San Diego. I spent occasional weekends exploring the
trails and views there. The fact that I
accidentally wandered onto the nearby nude beach [you've
been warned] shouldn't be construed as anything but..
